Collective Worship
Mr Finn has created The Mark 10 Mission to share the Sunday Gospel with children. Each week, a new episode shares the Gospel, a reflection, a time of guided prayer and a worship song. Click on the link below to view the latest episodes of The Mark 10 Mission.
Series Four - Lent 2021 — The Mark 10 Mission.
Collective Worship at Our Lady of Lourdes takes place every day and can take many forms; whole school assemblies, class prayers or class collective worship. Friends, families and parishioners are welcome to join us for our special services.
Each day begins and ends in prayer. Some of the prayers we say are listed below. The whole school gathers together every Monday to share the Gospel from Mass as well as pray for other special intentions. Parents and friends of the school join us on Fridays for our celebration assembly, where we celebrate the achievements of our pupils. Throughout the year each class leads us in class assemblies.
Below are some clips from our Easter Liturgy:
Significant feast days are celebrated throughout the Liturgical year with 'Class Liturgies.' Holy Mass is celebrated in school to mark the beginning and end of the school year, during Lent and Advent and on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes in February. On Holy days of Obligation, all children from Key Stage 2 will attend Mass in the Church.
The school has an active prayer life. During November, the month of the Holy Rosary, and during the Month of May, Mr Finn leads Rosary on Tuesday and Friday mornings in Prayer Corner of the library. During Lent and Advent daily prayers are led by teachers and pupils in the same location.
Families are encouraged to worship together at home. We send home the Wednesday Word each week. Fr Simon visits school regularly.
